Apparent to me if the engine/valvetrain was damaged after overrev?

Last night I went from 1-2nd and then back into 1st instead of 3rd gear. The car revved high and the tires locked up for a split second.

I don't think I can tell a difference in engine noise or performance. Would it be possible that I did have some engine damage occur and not know it yet?

Thanks

Been there done that.

I had my car looked over at the dealer. I had the valve covers pulled, ran the valves, etc.... The motor all checked out good.

BUT.... I caused myself rearend problems. My right rear spring come unseated from the shock and was rubbing badly. There was something inside the rearend that got moved, some type of crush collor, or shim or something, I forget, but they did have to tear my rear end apart and rebuild it.

Nothing like a $2,000.00 driver error! Just all part of the fun! Hope all is well with your car.
