I took the GTS up through the mountains of North Georgia today, to Helen, up to Blairsville, then Dahlonega and Amicalola. It was a beautiful day and the sport bikes and Harleys were out in force.
What surprised me was the police presence on US 19/129 going south from Blairsville . I have never seen police there until today -- there were 2 state troopers and 3 local police cars that we saw within about 20 minutes. One of the state troopers had pulled over two completely innocent-looking young men wearing full leathers and driving sport bikes. I was fortunate enough to be caught behind some slow traffic when I came across this whole scene.
Anyway -- a warning to you guys who drive that road. I hope this doesn't become par for the course -- it's one of my favorite driving roads.
