There is no question in my mind that the srt-10 is a very NICE car.Better brakes etc.A better daily driver.Easier to drive.A working convertible top not a roadster. Not a roadster as in you drive it in the rain or whatever with a top never given a 2nd thought. The type of car a Japanese sport bike rider would like but a Harley owner wouldn't be caught dead with.A chick or girlie man's car.A lawyer's car.A daily driver, grocery getter car.A very nice car indeed. No doubt destined to outsell gen 1 and 2 cars unless people don't bother to buy them and just go get a vette at 1/2 the price. The new car is a very nice car.Easy to live with.Easy to drive.Nice and quiet. Not why I bought a Viper in the first place.I'm sure it will attract a lot of owners.Hopefuly enough so that DC won't just can the Viper altogether. … ‘in my mind the SRT-10 is the type of car a Japanese sport bike rider would like not a Harley owner, a chick or girlie man's car, a lawyer's car, a grocery getter, easy to drive, nice and quiet’ …

So according to you Bruce, is this what makes a "NICE" car? :D

My car isn't smooth, quiet, or subtle. It's not nice. I do pick up some dog food occasionally....

Truth is, under the skin it's the same car as the early Vipers. Just more power and better at the limit handling.

Mine seems to get more thumbs up than my GTS or RT-10. Go figure.

I think a 600hp street coupe would silence the critics?

Please remember this is Bruce. The guy who says that your car looks like a RICER if it has stripes on it. Why do you Gen III haters get so upset and randomly post your pleasantries about the SRT?

The comments on both sides of this site, seem like you dislike the Gen III more than your inate disdain of the Corvette. I will assume that you feel betrayed by the brand? The older cars were pure muscle and appealed to a limited audience. While everyone from kids to grandpa gearheads loved them, very few would actually own one. Rightfully so.

The newer cars have abondoned the dinosaur like approach that galvanized each of us 'Viper People'. It is a far leap from the earlier descriptives of a Viper. Its no longer rude, arrogant and cartoonish. With the exception of 'fast' I can think of few commonalities between the cars.

Personally, I don't care about popular opinion. Demographically and categorically I can assume that very few of us purchased the car to be popular. All three gens are great and fantastic in very different ways.

At the end of the day, DC should have probably disinvested itself of the Viper namesake and created a new brand in which to market the SRT. As more of the older generation Viper owners move out of their cars, where will they go? As it certainly seems like many of you will not be upgrading to the Gen III, will you look to another nameplate? Probably. And Dodge will have lost a potentially profitable section of its base and an opportunity to steward MOPAR loyalty.

I don't weep for Dodge. I'm not angry for them fixing something that wasn't broken. The SRT is everything I always wanted my 96 to be. I also do not bash other folks' cars unsolicitedly. Don't quite understand how being so negative about someone elses pride and joy, even a Corvette, makes my day any better.

What do you guys feel is hard to drive or live with as concerns the GII GTS? Power everythng,450hp, 12.1 and a top speed of 180 ish mph...and AC to boot. Heck this is a Lincoln compared to my (ex)72 LT-1 Vette. Now that was an animal to live with. If DC ever comes out with a SRT GTS I'll consider buying it. But I'll still keep my GTS ...WADDACAR!

Yawn... this argument is so darn old and tired, can't you guys get over it? I have a G2 and a G3, they both rock... There are many G1s and G2s that look like crap, but I just have too much class to start bashing them, so get over it, you don't like it, buy something else.
