I've tested all systems connect with a fuse. Battery is good. Alternator is putting out correct volts. Anyone have any ideas?

Okay Gerald. Have you tried yeast. I have heard it makes the batter grow.
Jest aside, Check out the security system as I believe earlier Gen II's had alarm system draw issues. A faulty hood or deck lid switch may be at fault.

I thought of that. With the hood / latch open I used the alarm and turned the switch on / off manually and they worked. Is there another way to test these?

13.6 Volts Idle , no load
13.8 Volts @ about 1,500 - 2k RPM, no load
12.0 Volts Full load (lights & AC) at idle
13.0 to 13.3 Volts Full load, high idle. (1.5k - 2k RPM)
Are these values correct or within limits?

My Gen 1 with an underdrive pulley typically has higher voltage readings at load; often 14+ at no load, all measured at the cigarette lighter. In fact, when the AC compressor kicks on, the radar detector has a high voltage indicator at 15.4 V, and it beeps for a few seconds. Wait for others to chime in, but I think the voltage drop from no load to full load doesn't look great.

Mine did the same thing for about a year until Ward told me about a $12 switch that goes to the back of the tumbler in the glovebox. Problem solved. I guess you could have the same issue.

Gerald you don't think it might have to do with your amps for your radio? Possible slow drain. Maybe just a bad battery with bad cells or you maybe low on water in your battery. That would cause it not to charge properly . Check those Gerbils!

car lost charge.pinched wire runnng along trans tunnel.Close doors on car.Little light on door goes out in a few minutes.if stays lit you are having a battery drawn down from someplace. Bruce

First check your system for a draw. Maximum is 33ma. If it is higher then something is running your battery down. Most common causes are a mis-adjusted rear hatch switch, glove box switch or a faulty alarm module.

There is DEF.a draw. Removed ALL FUSED systems by fuse 1 by 1 and tested with light, very time consuming. When ALL sytsems conected to battery (aftermarket amps, radio, etc, etc AND fuses where disconnected) car still had a MAJOR arc to the test light rod when only the FACTORY postive lead and Negative lead were attached.It is something to do with the factory wiring, non fused.
Light to rear hatch has been out (no light bulb) for about 2 years.

My glove box is always left open. hmm, I didn't know there was a glove box light or switch.? Or do you mean the alarm switch in the glove box..?

How are you testing for current draw?
Is it with a light in series with the battery main cable removed from the big positive terminal under the hood.
The light should be between the terminal and the cable end?
And if that is the case, you say that the light is on when all the fuses are pulled?

After closing the door, they stay on for a little while, then go out.. I forgot to add some info. The mechanic who checked it is pretty good with electrical but he only had 3 hours to find it and couldn't. He removed the rear wheel and check from back there with a test light while removing the fuses and all after market systems REMOVED from the battery. . This wasn't done up under the hood.
** I forgot to add that he gets a SERIOUS arc, when the doors are opened, progressivly getting worse until it arcs so bad it's actually pretty scary **

If you remove the battery cable from the big post under the hood, and you see the draw at that point,
you can do the troubleshooting from there. You won't need to remove the wheel.
If you don't see the drain at the under the hood terminal, of course, that would mean that it's leaking somewhere between the battery and the terminal.
Increased drain when the doors are opened.
You might try removing the bulbs from the interior lights controlled by the door switch.
If you still see an increased drain when the doors are opened, I would think that the alarm system must be causing it.
If you remove the battery cable from the big post under the hood, and you see the draw at that point,
you can do the troubleshooting from there. You won't need to remove the wheel.
If you don't see the drain at the under the hood terminal, of course, that would mean that it's leaking somewhere between the battery and the terminal.
