Yup! Tacdoc pretty much summed it up. How much are you willing to spend? Unless you're racing a 700hp brick, it's gonna take more than a few simple upgrades to beat a 700hp motor.

don't be too suprised, I used to beat some vipers with my 1993 RX-7, that was pushing around 400 rwhp....

I think I have seen stats and pictures of the car.... I'm pretty sure it sold on ebay a few months ago for like $36k..... it does have a 3 rotor engine..... NO way its putting out 700hp though.... those motors just don't last when pumped up that much...

could be putting down 500 rwhp...... which is enough in a lightweight car.....

I know first hand the 3rd Gen Mazda RX7 can be made very quick for a fraction of money spent on other cars. Performance and speed based on bang for the buck, RX7 definitely wins, hands down. I have a few friends with RX7's that are running in the mid 11s in there RX7s, not to bad for a 1.3 liter.
I noticed that while driving my Viper know one wants to race anymore, But the fun thing about owning the RX7 it seems that everbody wants to race me, like your typical mustang GTs and Firebirds. It is quite comical seeing the faces of these want to be muscle car owners when they get wooped by a 1.3 liter rice burner. I love it, the car really catches them off gaurd!

Honda claims it for a naturally aspirated engine, like the S2000 and M3 having the best ratios, not for a supercharged/ turbocharged engine.

Nothing to be embarrassed about loosing to an RX7 maybe if it was a 323

The RX7 and the Supra are not to be taken lightly, in stock form there is no contest but both can be easily modified to produce some impressive HP. He was feeding you some BS if he claims to be at 700HP on that race, with 700HP he would have been a small speck way out in front of you by 120MPH. He was probably only 400 rwhp or less, if you keep up with him after your late start on a stock ACR.

I noticed the same thing.... I was always getting into races with the RX-7..... I would say I pick up about 1/10 the amount with the Viper....

Kevin, if he had 700HP, you would have known it.... you wouldn't have been near him at all....
