Before the drilling starts?????

Thanks to JonB at Partsrack, I purchased the MOPAR rear spoiler I have been looking for for my 94 RT/10.I really don't relish the idea of having to drill 6 holes in the trunk, but I liked the look of the MOPAR over the Autoform.To those who have installed them on their cars, is there any special things that need to be done before the pilot holes are drilled?? Anyone have a inner shift boot (rubber)they care to sell? Dodge no longer stocks them.

I did mine myself. No special tools. Although it was hard to start drilling into the trunk lid, but the end results were awesome, just keep focused on the final product! Don't have a boot, but do you need a Tonnau cover for the cockpit?

I just installed mine, I would recommend putting an old sheet down in your trunk so all of the debris is contained. The plastic dust is nasty. Once installed you will have no regrets!

Chad can hook you up... GCHDEALER ... His email is [email protected] ...He does aftermarket viper interiors that are insane cool, so I am positive he can make you an OEM looking boot, or something better looking...

Tips for drilling. Put masking tape down on the truck where you have to drill. Also use a plastic spreader (autobody guys use them for bondo). Drill a hole through the spreader. Hold the spreader with your hand and drill your holes in the trunk. This will help to keep the drill from drifting. It is important to drill straight, not on an angle. Do not tighten and of the nuts down snug until you get all of them started. Chuck Tator also told me to put a little silicone around the holes to get a water tight seal around them, keep the rain out. Its not a hard install.
