BEST OIL & FILTER ?

Mobil 1. I use 15-50 for the track and 10-30 for the street.

Filters are a coin toss:

Mobil 1 # M1-204
Fram # DG 16 (Double Guard with Teflon)
Mopar # 05281090
Purolator # PL14670 (Pure One Micronic)

Consult your owner's manual as well.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I'd pass on the Fram with Teflon. From everything I've read, including from Dupont themselves, Teflon doesn't belong in an engine.

Jason,Mobil 1 10-30 only! If your car is only on the track Mobil 1 15-50 is ok. The only oil filter to use Mopar part #5281090!! Controversial subject but here goes;
I use Redline 10-40,2pints of Prolong and the Fram Double Gaurd filter. (Prolong is my newest addition to the witches brew)

After taking each one of my rod bearing caps loose I found that the Teflon does in fact bond to the bearing surface and create a slipperier face than one without.

How did I come to this conclusion you ask?? Well it actually came to me in a funny way beside the obvious visual pigment and ability to move it around with a fingernail I was getting false oil clearance readings due to the plasti-gauge sticking only to the crankshaft even after I wiped both surfaces clean,hmmmmm...

Since you are a dealer, I probably should not question your statement on filter selection, but if a aftermarket filter, such as the Mobil 1, meets all OEM specifications how could Dodge legally reject a engine warranty claim? I could see it if the filter failed, thereby damaging the engine, but otherwise....

Given that, I'd guess that if you use anything but Mobil 1 10w-30 oil you be at risk, or anything but Mopar antifreeze, etc.

That kind of reposnse may be giving customers FREE OEM parts. Per federal law, if the consumer is told that only the original equipment filter will not void the warranty, he should request that the OE filter be supplied free of charge. If he is charged for the filter, the manufacturer will be violating the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act or other applicable law.

Jason,My statement may have sounded a little HARSH ,but that is right from the horses mouth[DC].I'm closer to the end of the horse being a tiny store! They don't like me,I'm to small for them!IT would be great if the maufacturer supplied us with filters.Until that happens?For[msrp] $6.50 it's cheap insurance!THANKS CHUCK
