These new billet airbox knobs replace the plastic knobs that are hard to remove due to rust buildup. They have s/s inserts & a 3/16" s/s allen head for easy removal & install:D Like all my product made in the USA by a Viper owner:omg:

Check your mail. My dogs said it would be OK to spend a little today as long as we go chase squirrels in the 60 deg sunny Texas weather later.

Hey Dave,

Since I'm first, can I get free installation too? :dunno:

Two clues I can give you Dave6666....

Dave C is allergic to Tech Seminars, parts for Gen III cars, and ANY installation services... :lmao::lmao:

If he had done at least one tech seminar for our local club, he probably wouldn't have had to share the "2007 Man of the Year Award" .... :rolaugh::rolaugh:

BTW, Dave called me yesterday after I placed my order and said there would be a slight delay in shipping the parts. So if you jump in quick like I did to take advantage of free shipping, they may not actually go out until Friday or so.

It was something like the aero on the head design was off giving up some performance on the dyno. Something like that...

After wind tunnel & dyno testing:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I found I had too much aero push:lmao: so I added more down force to the knobs:drive: Car drives really good now.:D

Got 'em. And after a sixer of Lone Star long necks last night I decided to knurl the OD of the heads with some sharp Channellocks for better grip.

NOT!

Beautiful parts Dave. And these not only dress up things a bit, but replace a cheap plastic part that needed improvement.

I hate when people make me have to get dressed before noon on a Saturday.

Nonetheless, some pics. Did not dust the engine bay as it needed it before the camera flash went off to highlight all the dust and sand that seems to find the engine compartment.

On another note, I noticed on the single screw by the cross-member, that the way it is machined it will not bottom out on the threads and get tight like the stock screw will. Should maybe use a dab of low strength Loctite or in my case, I think I'm gonna do this...

I've got a new rubber grommet for that spot. Mine is toast. The new one is like the rounded wiring grommet, but in one healthy piece. The screw is 1/4" OD. The grommets I bought were 3/8" ID. So I'm gonna get a 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD x 3/4"(?) length round aluminum sleeve to put over the screw and that way it will shoulder out on the nut clip on the cross-member.

I'll post some pics when I get to that point.

Great parts though. Love the metal hex socket head!

Gen1 and Gen2 knobs are different. At least they are on my 96 RT. I have similar knobs on my car, but the guy who did them had to make me a custom set because the two front female knobs are shorter than the Gen2. The single rear male knob is the same I believe.

RT/10 Dave:

I've got something worked out:omg: 92-95 are all male like the one on the xcross bar. I tried a 94 today and that's what I found.
96 RT/10 are diff, and have parts coming to see what is diff.
The male version that's used on the xcross bar all years look the same but need to make sure.

OK Big D. I said I would post some pics when I had my mods done
to your parts, and we are now there.

As a refresher, I once had the OE screw by the belt come out and
go through the belt. See pic. Dave designed that new billet
screw to tighten by friction fit against the rubber grommet. I
wanted it tighter.

The aftermath of the belt...

5/8L x 5/16OD x #10 aluminum sleeve, tapped to 1/4-20. Made the
fat washer using 1/4" aluminum stock and 1-3/8" hole saw.

It now compresses the grommet pretty well, and gets some metal
to metal contact because of the sleeve shouldering out on the j-nut.
