well, with the FIA GT3 series specifically, they are bringing together cars that are commonly used in "one-make" series, such as ViperDays, Ferrari Challenge, Porsche Carrera Cup, etc. so not all of them are going to have a bespoke road model as often considered by the sanctioning bodies. so the fact that the CC is not as based off of the SRT as the GTS-R was the GTS, is not of real issue, because they are allowing in ground up racecars from single make style series', so long as they fall into a specific performance envelope. also to be noted, is that the FIA in this particular instance, is limiting the number of initial manufacturers, in this case i believe it's nine.
a new generation GT1 race car would probably have to lose the CC "longtail" shape, and replace it with one more closely linked to the coupe's rear styling... then again, the rules once said that you had to keep the original roof, so to get around it, porsche just built a new one on top... the engineers will always find a way...
