Just bought a 2003 SRT/10. When I test drove the car I pushed the control button that adjusts the pedal box towards the fire wall. Gas and clutch pedal moved but brake pedal did not. Dealership said broken worm gear, could cost 1500$ to replace, if they can find it. Because I am 6' 2" tall I would keep pedals as far down as possible. Can the brake pedal be adjusted or fixed to simply remain in the down position without replacing the gear unit ??

On Viper Parts America you can buy brand new pedal assembly for 795.00 and install it yourself.
Or Call Jon B and I KNOW he can score you a perfectly good used one for less than new.

Not easy to do, and I do not think that would be safe. No jury-rig fix of a VERY important pedal!

[ and my earlier post to that effect is mysteriously missing??]

You could get a good used unit for a fraction of new $.

As usual good advice from you all. I remembered old friend who worked for Dodge and he was able to find me a new unit for 300 $ which I thought was a good deal. Now I just have to figure out how to install it. John

PEDALS - ADJUSTABLE
DESCRIPTION
The brake pedal on this vehicle is included in an
assembly known as the adjustable pedals assembly.
The adjustable pedals assembly includes the clutch,
brake and accelerator pedals.
This switch operated assembly is designed to
enable fore and aft repositioning of the clutch, brake
and accelerator pedals. This results in improved
ergonomics in relation to the steering wheel for taller
and shorter drivers. Being able to adjust the pedal
positions also allows the driver to set steering wheel
tilt and seat position to the most comfortable position.
The effort required for pedal application will not
change regardless of pedal position. All three pedals
adjust at the same time.
The adjustable pedals assembly is serviced as a
complete assembly.

REMOVAL
NOTE: Review all Warnings and Cautions. (Refer to
5 - BRAKES - WARNING)
