What are your opinions on the longevity of zinc washing versus paint on a brake rotor? I see VHT makes a brake caliper and rotor application high temp paint. I am wondering if this is maybe better than the zinc wash? In all my previous cars the c/d rotors I have had that were zinc washed have always started to turn dull after a while, even if they were perfectly clean. I want something were the hub and the outer edge of the rotor stay bright, silver in this case. Even the plating shop here locally claims high temp paint would probably last longer than a zinc wash in high temp applications.

No matter what you do, the rotor friction surface will develop a dull grayish color as brake pad material is deposited onto it. It's just a thin coating but it is always there.
