Recently the boot around my emergency brake has started pulling up out of the console when I pull up the brake. I've tried to reset the metal tabs that hold it down, but it only lasts a while. Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a good fix?

Not here...yet Hisserman. Which end is pulling out? I just looked at mine and I think I would be hard pressed to put enough pressure on the boot for it to come out while applying the e-brake. With my e-brake set, I can tug on the boot all around the console and it is loose (ish).

The front end comes up. It all started when the parking brake cable slipped and I pulled the lever all the way back. On the next crank the cable readjusted itself, but I've been having trouble with the boot ever since.

Not sure if I should loosen the console and work from the bottom, or just try to wedge it back from the top.

Sad to say, but I think the best thing to do is take the center console all the way off and take it from there. Not sure if you've ever taken the console all the way out, but it isn't too hard. Then you could get a really good view of just what is happening.

I know how hard it is to actually start taking things apart..it is never as easy as you plan....and then the car is down till you finish.

Today I wired up a cool three way switch to the Roe fan kit, mounted it down on the back end of the PCM cover. Up, the fan/switch runs normally, based on the thermocouple. Middle position lets me turn the fan/switch off (for when I think the fan has run long enough and I want to save the battery). Down position manually turns the fan on. The real part of the story is that I went out and came to the realization the 5 year old battery has had enough. :(

Anyway....I digress, sorry! Let us know what you find when you take the console out! Have a great July 4TH!

The boot has little metal tabs that need to be bent back down on the console. You try to bend them a bit and move it to the side and push it down. The best way it to pull the console. It has happened to me as well.

Let us know how it goes!! I'm spending the day cleaning from months of pseudo-bachelorhood (wife arrives Wednesday!!), changing the plugs in the car, adding custom intake parts for the water/**** jets......and generally working my butt off!! LOL!! I should be at work....where I don't have to work quite this hard!! LOL!!!
