Sad to say, but I think the best thing to do is take the center console all the way off and take it from there. Not sure if you've ever taken the console all the way out, but it isn't too hard. Then you could get a really good view of just what is happening.
I know how hard it is to actually start taking things apart..it is never as easy as you plan....and then the car is down till you finish.
Today I wired up a cool three way switch to the Roe fan kit, mounted it down on the back end of the PCM cover. Up, the fan/switch runs normally, based on the thermocouple. Middle position lets me turn the fan/switch off (for when I think the fan has run long enough and I want to save the battery). Down position manually turns the fan on. The real part of the story is that I went out and came to the realization the 5 year old battery has had enough.
Anyway....I digress, sorry! Let us know what you find when you take the console out! Have a great July 4TH!
