capet dye question

I recently bought a new set of black floor mats for my 96 gts. When cleaning the car today, I noticed a brown spot about 2 in dia on the mat. I tried to remove it with several cleaners that I have used in the past with good results. Nothing worked. It looks like a chemical of some sort worked its way into the mat and killed the black dye.

Has anyone had luck with a touch up carpet dye? I don't want to buy another mat just for this but would like it fixed.

A little liquid shoe dye should bring the color right back. Buy a bottle for a couple bucks. Daub it on and let dry.
