I have carbon fiber hood that is a fraction of the weight of the stock one yet the stock hood springs are still present.

Concern is that current warping of hood is related to "high" constant spring force applied to hood.

Springs looks like watch springs. If hood were 1/2 stock weight, spring width could be reduced to 50%. While easy to say, it would have to be done w/o heating the spring.

Other approach, if sufficient "turns" of stock spring are present, reduce "turns" by 1.

Any experience/suggestions?

Try the search-plug in Carbon Fiber Hood-and comes up with a monster load of hits.
Hope this helps.

The search button is at the top of the page underneath the Viper.
Click on it and it will bring up a small box-enter whatever you want(like google).
I put in Carbon Fiber Hood.
It will bring up all the threads pertaining to that-there were a bunch.
Good luck and there are quite a few with pictures.:D
