carfax says ................ should i leave alone ???

Hi ALL
A car i am interested in , is listed as title clean on the ebay advert , but comes up on carfax as :

not being an expert on carfax reports , the report says "SALVAGE TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED , and NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE TITLE ISSUED "

I cannot see anywhere on carfax where i can get excact details of what happened to the car ???

should i leave this car alone , and file it under " if it looks to good to be true , it probably is "

It could mean that the Viper was seriously wrecked and rebuilt or perhaps the damage was relatively minor but given the cost of OEM Viper parts pushed the damages into salvage. Get it inspected by a Viper Tech and looked over by a body specialist at the very least. May be easier to find a good deal on a no story Viper. Some things I noticed from the pics:

- The gaps between the driver's door, hinge cover & side sill look awfully tight as compared to the gaps in the same locations on the passenger side. Could just need an adjustment or something more severe.
- Pic #20 shows what looks like a repair to the fiberglass piece over the wheel well. That white residue near the coolant expansion tank. Is it a repair or water spots??
- Pic #31 what's that haze/residue on top of the master cylinder?
- Pic #31, what's the white residue on the windshield cowl just below the wiper? A crack, repair or hood rubbing against it?
- The interior looks dirty and the center console cover looks faded in certain areas on the passenger side. Could just be the sun.

Get it checked out...thoroughly. The only way to know what happened to cause the Salvage title is to get a hold of the previous owner and find out what happened...hopefully there are detailed pics of the before/after of the damages. If it were me, I'd run away from it...I wouldn't be as concerned if the seller was forthcoming about the prior salvage title, damages, repairs. By chance, does the Carfax show any entries for the Viper as being once registered in CT or NY?

I'd leave it alone. The starting bid is already too much. They don't say anything about a salvage so they ARE hiding stuff and this is a dealership. If they were honest about the damage maybe you would have a place to start talking. If they are hiding from the start...no answer will truly be sufficently replied to. Let her go.

i decided best to leave alone , and keep looking !!!!!
but i did notice it was withdrawn/sold from ebay , hopefully withdrawn , and not sold as thie title was definately not clear !!!
