Carlsbad Dragstrip Closing...

On a sad note, the Carlsbad Dragstrip in San Diego is on it's last leg. A sewer line is coming through the property, and it will take out the strip. While the strip is a POS, it is sad to see it go. They are on a 7 day notice, so each run may be it's last. They do not expect to be open past September. Get out and give it a run. Had some great times there. Will miss the place.

Sorry to hear that, another dragstrip bites the dust. All thats left within an hour's drive is California Speedway, or Irwindale. Takes 8 hours to get three runs in....

Seems like the latest trend is to open 1/8th mile strips. They are just teasers to Vipers. Irwindale and Qualcomm are still open, but 1/8th mile only. Not only could you get in 5 or more runs at Carlsbad, but you saw lots of interesting cars there. Anything from Vintage dragsters to motorcycles to rice.
