I put an XTD chromoly flywheel I bought off eBay for $250 on my 01 ACR last Summer and it's great.

No fitment issues, no disappointments

I installed a chrome-molly flywheel from DC Performance while I had the transmission out for other reasons. I've noticed a little more vibration at about 2000 rpm and only slightly better throttle response. I track the car quite a bit and really don't notice much difference. My car is stock except intake and exhaust. IMO I wouldn't change the flywheel unless you have the transmission and engine split for other reasons.

how noticable is the difference between aluminum and chrome-moly units. Can you tell the difference?

Check with DC performance. If I remember right the chromoly flywheel is about 10.5 lbs lighter than stock and the aluminum flywheel is about 13 lbs lighter.
