Mine's a '97! Just wondering if is due to ALL the rain we get in the UK, or 'weather' others have found that their chassis welds and inner sills are rusting too? Mine are quite bad, I'm in the process of seeing to them at the moment.

Nadine, my 97 Coupe is also showing considerable corrosion at the lower rear door jamb area. I've just ignored it, but it IS starting to bubble significantly. Before my warranty on this matter expires, you can be sure I'll be having a "visit" with my local zone Dodge guy. Let me know what you find out.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Wing King,

Where exactly are you experiencing corrosion? Would it be possible to post a picture?

Thanks</FONT f>

Remember, friends: The Year matters, but D-C's "Corrosion/Rust warranty is MUCh more extensive than the 3/36. Some years are 5/75...others I belive are 7/75 or even 7/100!

Ron, my car is apart in a shop across town. I'll post the pics ASAP, sometime next week, and resurrect this thread.

My corrosion warranty is 6 years, but I think that a hole needs to be corroded through to claim over here? Or will a claim for 'scabby' bits of corrosion stand? I was just quite surprised to find almost all the chassis welds from front to rear, even up over the axle, very scabby and rusty. But, I'm treating them myself, taking the rust off to bare metal, and repainting.

On my car, the welds themselves are fine, but the heat affected zone adjacent to each side of the weld beads are losing paint coverage on many parts of the car. No real rust problems to speak of. 96 GTS, 15k mi.
