Cross over delete question

I recently installed a complete exhaust system that deletes the cross-over section from the factory (bellengar system).

Now, I'm begining to put the car back together, and I get to the belly pan. There's a big hole with an inverted U piece that the old crossover used to go through. Should I make a plate to block off this hole now? Will this cause any other issue? There's still the reverse scoop behind the hole....

Anyone have any insight?

Keep the hole, it promotes airflow over the rear differential.
