My car only has 250 miles on it and I’m already starting to get creases on the left front side of the driver’s seat where my clutch leg repeatedly pushes down on the leather. Creases in leather eventually become cracks in leather. The person who ever thought of using leather anywhere in or around a car ought to be taken out and shot. I deliberately avoid leather on any of my daily driver cars. I figured leather in the Viper would be OK since I would only be driving it a few times a month. Perhaps I figured wrong. Grrr…

You should get ahold of Chad AKA "Snakeydes"! The leather put in these cars are cheap, his work and materials are outstanding! :2tu: :2tu: :2tu:

Hi,

Bit confused. Are not the seat centres on the SRT/10 suade and not leather?

  :usa:

Seat centers are suede and will probably hold up well. However, the front part under your knees is traditional leather.

I have a friend who owned a leather and fur shop and he told me, long ago, to wipe down the leather with baby wipes as they work excellent to clean and condition the leather - they used them in the store. I have used them ever since when I clean my Viper etc and the leather has held up very well. Use them on my boat seats as well - 8 boating seasons with white leather & kids and the seats look brand new! Plus they are very inexpensive.

Over the winter I literally pour and massage in Zaino leather on the seats, etc. No problems here.Has a sun screen in it too.No reason to let it dry out and crack. If you let it go too long then any automotive interior shop should be able to re do the seats or whatever for you. GTS Bruce

I bought the 30 dollar black towel from skymall.com which protects the lower seat from sweat ect. I have 750 miles and no cracks. The towel is form fitted and only covers the middle to lower part of the seat. Check out the link and you will see the pic.

I have almost 12000 miles on mine, no cracks. But as stated above, I clean and use leather conditioner regularly. Armor All, Griots, Meguires, Zaino, etc. make good leather treatments. Give them a shot.
