to remove the dash panel/instrument bezel, i presume you just remove the bolts? also, does the console ( e-brake) piece just pop off, or is there something else i need to do to remove? i do have to remove that piece to take off the upper piece, correct?

To remove the e-brake piece, you are correct, it just pops off. The dash panel needs the allen screws to be removed, and then the electrical connectors unplugged. Unplugging the wiring harnesses is tight, but you can get back there and reach the connector release pins with your fingers.
