I have an early 93 softtop that is in need of replacement.

The only ones available for sale are 94+. My question is what exactly is the difference between the 92 and 94+ soft tops? I believe it is just the front latches? If so do you think I could purchase a 94 hardtop and somehow merge it with parts from my 1993 hard top to make it work?

Thanks!

I would say that yes, it will PROBABLY work if you can salvage the old hardware.. When Dodge started offering hard tops for Gen1 RTs, it became apparent very quickly that all the little assembly line running changes that were made (and not well documented) caused fitment problems. '92 and early '93 had a different material than the later tops.

I think you are correct. The front latches on the earlier cars were longer, not as robust as the late 94-2002 cars. Other than that, the 92-early 93 cars had vinyl tops I believe. They then went to canvas thru 2002.

I would hate to buy a 94 top, and find out I cant switch the latches? Would this be an easy switch you think?
