That is correct, it is a "smoothie hood" which was used all through the 97 year (for R/T's only) AND 1 car in 98(R/T). I think the 98 R/T is up for sale in the classifieds.

To answer you question I'll just copy and paste the previous owners listing even though a lot of things do not pertain to the hp. My other '96 had an unfortunate end: head-on into a truck last Sept. My old one was 18 hp less (442) but it didn't have the larger bored out throttle bodies or the programmable chip for the air/fuel mixture. Sweet RT/10 you have there. Foster1, I hope you find your picture on the solid blue RT/10.

'96 Dodge Viper GTS -- -- Blue with white strip ext/black leather int, V10 engine, 6 speed transmission with a 354 rear end, just Dynoed at 459.8 Hp to the rear wheels within the last two weeks. Power windows, power locks, dual air bags, 2000 Viper wheels and tires. 2000 Viper radiator fan shroud and control module w/silicone self bleeder radiator hoses. This car also has hood gills installed where the hood comes closest to the doors, also painted to match the cars paint. Wireless cruise control. Ferrari style sounding air horn. Custom cut and polished billet aluminum Viper name emblems, and white Viper race front window sticker. MGW billet Viper shift knob satin finish, billet a/c knobs in satin, billet key fob GTS, Viper billet chromed license plate frame, aluminum chin guard, billet glove box with Viper shield, billet cigarette lighter in satin, Viper chrome dip stick handle, GTS oil fill chrome cap, billet clutch- brake and gas peddles satin finish with GTS VIPER stamped into them in!
blue, also billet instrument panel trim rings satin finish, Premium after-market sound system including an Eclipse head unit, MB Quart speaker, mids and highs with Rockford Fosgate Amp and JL Audio sub. with the entire stereo and climate control wrapped in custom cut billet aluminum. This is an exciting better than new Viper with many top of the line performance extras and tastefully done custom accessories, and it only has 8,000 miles, "It's barely broke in". Over $25,000 in recipts with car. Comes with original window sticker, all receipts and service records.
