"I have had mine on my Yukon XL and then my Denali XL for the last three years, including winters. Still looks brand spanking new. Hell, I even had a Honda Accord RAM me at a red light from behind two years ago and the MGW hitch plug sliced a perfect Sneaky Pete outline into his bumper cover (actually punched it right through). And it still looks like the day I bought it from George!"
Maybe they don't salt your roads? Or maybe they use something REALLY corrosive here. All I know is we don't get a lot of snow, therefore not a lot of salt. So I felt no need to remove it. I should have. It's too nice a piece to be run through the salt. And any plated part like this is going to fall prey to corrosive chemicals eventually. This was not meant as a knock on Georges very superior products, I believe I own every MGW piece that can be bolted on to a GTS. And I have had many pleasant conversations with George. Again, my suggestion is to remove it if your roads get salted. Mine peeled, Chris did not have the problem. Maybe he had eight coats of Zaino on it, I had nothing. If mine peeled so can yours, it's too nice a plated piece to risk having it exposed to salt and there is no reason to expect it to be warranteed against salt, that certainly was not my point. My point was protect it by not running it in the winter.
