Are the door hinges permanently lubricated? If not what type of lubricant is required? I couldn't find any info about lubricating the door hinges in the manuel.

No, the hinge is not self lubricating. It is necessary to remove the hinge cover to lubricate each door hinge. I use a white lithium spray on both the pin and door check (which are one assembly). Nothing seems to last very long. The door hinge is expensive. Lube it as often as needed!

There is a cam like surface that matches up to the spring plate
of the door hinge that should be greased or it will sooner or
later break the spring plate. I just put a small amount of
grease on the cam face and work the door back or forth a few
times to lube it all. I use the same grease that I use in the
ball joints. Just a little is all that is needed. There was
a post on here about a month ago about a guy getting his door
paint messed up when the spring plate broke and got wedged into
the door. If you open the door it is possible to put some grease
on your finger and work it to the cam face but it is much easier
if you take the side panel off of the car ( in front of the door )
