I am going to Haltech and will not be needing my DRB an more. I also have the full Caster alinement kit to go with. $1500 and you pay shipping.

Actually... thats a very bad move.

You still need a DRB3 for every other module in the car, not to mention still needing a JTEC controller for all bus communication... so literally nothing changes except SOME engine diag when installing a Haltech.

That said... I am half tempted to buy another one as a spare.

I have other tools that do all the functions that a DRB can except reset the tire pressure monitor. Thanks for the advice.

BCM diag? ABS? CHM? RKE? TPMS aside, what other tool is even half decent for any of that? Most tools dont even properly support J1850VPW let alone actually support the modules.

Genuinely curious, because I run into situations all the time where a scanner is needed somewhere else, and if there is another option that may be useful...

Snap-on high end scanner. Others I write my own code, android or PC. There is a day coming without DRB!!!

Unfortunately none of those are really viable options for 99.999% of situations, certainly not compared to the cost of a DRB3. If you made them work reliably, thats a good deal on your end.
