Hey Guys,
I need some troubleshooting advice for an issue that started today. I unlocked my car doors with the fob, and for some reason when I press the button in to open the drivers door it will not open. I have to use the emergency opener. I have tried to reset the fob. I also tried playing with the lock/unlock button on the door with no luck. Any other things I can try so I can identify the problem? The passenger side works fine also.

Could be the switch in the "popper"...very possible you have a broken wire in driver's side door harness. Driver's side wiring harness usually goes out first due the more use.

Open the door, dislodge the door end of the rubber boot between the door and the body near the hinges , and gently tug on each wire. If you tell us the year of the car, someone could tell you the color code of the suspect wire. I have been in there to fix a broken wire on the driver's side in my car 3 times in 4 years.

So I took the rubber boot off and the wires are all intact. I put the boot back on and mysteriously my door works again. I'm assuming it is a loose wire.

The wire can be broken inside the insulation - not a defect that can be visually detected. You need to check with a continuity meter or like was said it could be the switch.
