Hi folks, Newbie here. I am buying a Viper this week and I looked at the car and it is in mint condition. However, when I opened the hood, there was black dust everywhere. No oil or grime, just really, really dirty from the dust. What product do you use to clean the engine? Soap and water? Thanks for your help!

I use a 50/50 mix of Fantastik and distilled water in a spray bottle. I use one of those wheel detailing brushed that have the soft plastic bristles, they look like a little toilet brush, to get into the tight areas to scrub. After that, I just have another bottle of distilled water and I rinse down that area and let it dry.

Re: Engine cleaning

i just use soap and water to clean. then get the leaf blower to dry it.
Great idea ...I used plain water and the leaf blower...Left the car running while spraying... It works great..a little towel wipe and your ready to go...Al... :D :2tu:

I had great luck with the engine degreaser at a do-it-yourself high pressure car wash. I had the car right next door getting the AC recharged so it was cool and I did not have to worry about spraying a hot engine. Started with degreaser function, went to soap, then rinse. Took a can of air with me to blow the injector plugs dry, and a bunch of towels to dry everything else. Started right up, ran fine, and looked good.
