hello,
i unplugged my fan wiring to change it out and install a new fan. well after i unplugged it i started it to move it while it was unplugged and now i am getting a check engine light every time i turn it on. would doing this be the cause of the check engine light or is it a coincidence. what is the best way to clear a check engine light.

As many will ask, what year? You should be able to reset the check engine light by disconnecting the battery for about 5 mins.

Good luck.

Drive it 3 times.

Yes, the computer must go through 3 sessions of full warm up and cool down without seeing the same code and it will clear by itself. Or get a OBD 2 code ready and clear it yourself.

OBD 2 reader (sorry for the typo). You can get one at any auto parts store. The good ones will cost more and the ones the facoty uses will cost a ton. The cheapy will clear the code.
