First ticket today

Was going to get some gas and was pulled over for NOT having a front license plate.The fine was a $110.00.Monday I will do some calls to see if I could fight this thing.Do I have a change.This happened in Ontario Canada 1997 GTS.

No tickets yet, Ive been lucky plus I carry my former Police Department ID with me everytime I drive my car.

I never bothered giving tickets for stuff like that. Waste of time. Common sense, would tell you that a nice sports car like the Viper having a front end with no provisions for holes from the factory. Is a car that the owner would not want to get rock chips in the front end never mind start drilling holes in it. I would look the other way.

I believe Florida only requires a rear plate. Hope I'm right as I just got the car.

Going on two years with no front plate on my car. Haven't been pulled over for it yet. Guess I should count my blessings.

Yes, K count your blessings. I've heard bad things about Fairfax county cops and front tags. I stay away as much as possible.

I live in ottawa, I got a ticket for no front plate on my daily driver had to go to the police station with the plate on and I didn't have to pay. Didn't they give you live 72 hours or something.

I have yet to drive my viper yet, should be out in a couple of weeks I bought the front plate bracket from partsrack but i don't think i will use it just keep it in the cabin and tell the officer is keep falling off etc etc

There is a company that makes a mount without drilling, I am sure someone will post the name.

Yep, partsrack sell the one that clips on via rubber brackets. No drilling etc. Comes on and off in about 10 seconds and leaves no sign of it being there.

It seems I'm making a career out of getting pulled over lately, not for not having a front plate, but for no reason whatsoever. In my area cops are really taking the no front plate seriously so the cams mounted on traffic lights can get your plate number if you run a red light and they can mail you a ticket. I got the front plate bracket from parts rack cuz I dont need to give the them an excuse to pull me over or hassle me anymore.

My two tickets for the front plate were both from New York City cops when going into or out of the city. Here on Long Island I have passed hundreds of Nassau and Suffolk cops without a glance. New York is a lot more desperate for money I guess.

Great point! In the NYC area, you're generally fine without a front plate EXCEPT when you go over or under a body of water. JonB's plate clip is perfect for this. I usually pull over right before a tunnel or bridge throw the plate on and smile for the police at the tolls.

They don`t do that any more.

I got pulled over for no front plate in York Region the day I bought my car and took it home. The cop told me you can plead "not guilty" but to put the front plate on and then go to the regular court date. Bring your car and you will get off. For the $110, I just paid it and put my plate on the day after.
