I was thinking of maybe importing a SRT10 Viper from the US one day... I read that there is a gas guzzlers tax for cars using more than 13L average...does this tax apply to all vehicles imported into Canada or are used vehicle from pre-2007 exempt from this tax? Apparantly it is between $1000 and $4000...wow. And I'm sure the Viper has a real bad average fuel rating. Anyways, it would be nice to hear from those who have some experience with this. When I imported my viper in 2006 it did not apply, I believe it applies to new cars, but you may want to check. You can check with RIV.CA (Registrar of Imported Vehicles). Hope this helps?
