first off is it a leak or is it where they put in the dye? its been a month or so since they put in the dye and i used the A/C a bunch of times...

Found the A/C leak in the black cap..... replace whole aluminum line?

do I have to replace the whole line?

the blue cap looks ok but the black upper cap has a big leak in the inside where you can release the pressure...

is it ok to just remove the whole aluminum line while the car is off?

thanks

Are you talking about the service taps? Like underneath the colored dust caps?

Like these?

You must be registered for see images

Those are replaceable Schrader valves.

Get the system evacuated, have valves replaced, recharge.

Do it at a service shop that has that equipment.

Probably the easiest AC fix short of moving to Alaska.

You have to **** the system down. Special equipment needed.

You have to replace the valves. Semi-special equipment needed.

You have to recharge the freon. Semi-special equipment needed.

Go to AC service shop!

Don't just open up the system!!!@ Not only is it illegal to do but you'd end up with two more possible leaks when done! It should be a cheap and quick repair to replace the valve...Most shops have a cool tool that allows the valve replacemnet without evacuation... If you've been adding R-134a for a long period of time the system needs to be totally evacuated and recharged with new freon after the valve is replaced.
