Gen 1 drain plug gasket, new type?

Hi,

On my 92 Gen 1 I had this plastic drainplug gasket which was pretty thick, about 1/8 inch. I ordered a new one and I received a steel one with a "rubber" bit in it, it's way thinner, about like a washer.

It is ordered by the dealer on my VIN.

The question: can I use this, and if so in combination with the original drainbolt/plug?

I guess so, but maybe somebody had some bad experience with it.

I have an 06, bought a new drain plug because the gasket/washer had better days. My Dodge dealer had the plug with the rubber/steel" thing" too. Parts manager said it was an upgrade and all drain plugs for vipers are like that now...
