Hey guys help me out a lil here..Ive been working for the past 3 hours trying to put down a bolt on gen 3 list..

So far Ive found a whopping 10 people rangeing from 460-521 rwhp..

The way Im doing it is

name
year
rwhp and rwt
type dyno
modifications

It's OK if you dont know what kind of dyno it was...Just give me what you got...

I know we have a lot of bolt on gen3's out their...Can707 and Dman as well as ULLOSE and a few others come to mind that I cant find numbers or mods list for..

Thanks for any help.

Even if you upgraded to a gen4 but remember your gen3 specs..lets here em:usa:

Twister,

Performance controller
5 into 1 long tube headers
Intake - port matched runnners / air seperator

With a good running Gen 3 Viper & these fundamental upgrades you should be at approx power levels on respectable chasis dyno:

490 / 500 plus rwhp

510 / 515 rwtrq

=DISTRIBUTORS OF POWER=:usa:

stock seems to be 117 min 124 max..So 120.5 on average..with 440 rwhp

intake/cat back exhaust at 460 rwhp should be 118.5min-125.5max or 122.0 on average ....

intake/catback exhaust/headers/no cats at 485 rwhp should be 120.5 min-127.5 max or 124.0 on average

intake/cat back exhaust/headers/no cats/roller rockers/underdrive pully at 500 rwhp should be 121.5 min-128.5 max or 125.0 on average

intake/cat back exhaust/headers/no cats/roller rockers/underdrive pulley/tune at 520 rwhp should be 123.0 min-130.0 max or 126.5 on average,,

my research seems to point to this being pretty accuarate

The problems with the srt10 i found were very simple..

I literally went through 20 pages of searching varous threads and probally went through over 50 defferant srt10 threads...

Yet Ive only found 10 decent bolt on srt10's..

WHY????????????

The srt10 guys do one dyno bone stock..Rangeing from 430-460 rwhp..442 rwhp seemed to be a good average...

Then they do kn intake and corsa exhaust for 440-470 rwhp..450 rwhp seemed to be the average..

Then theirs a lot of talk about headers/tune/no cats/rockers ect...

then the next post you see from them is they bought a paxton!!!!!!!!!!!!

Id be willing to wager their are nearly as many paxtoned srt10's as their are well bolted on srt10's..

Help me out guys..mods and numbers from bolt ons please...

I think we get tired of a measly 10 horsepower from mods that cost $1,000+ Headers for a gen 3 are a waste of time as in they're not worth the price for very little power. The only big gain is in supercharging or twin turbos with supercharging being much more affordable and reliable.

I agree with you pteam that the best power mod for the money is the Paxton. I disagree that everyone is tired of the small gaines used with bolt-ons. Twister, we know that these cars can hit 500 plus with headers, cat delete, intake, exhaust and a tune. I've dynoed 486rwhp 521torq sae on the dyno my car was tuned. 479.5 520 on the dyno I always used to judge HP gains with each mod. Would I love to hit 500rwhp? Yes. Am I willing add headers on delete the cats for 20 hp? Not sure.

Stock pull 440 HP and 467 TQ. After installation of American Racing stepped headers with high flow cats, B&B catback, and a Sean Roe tune via SCT programer the car pulled 499 HP and 550 TQ.

Numbers and mods above

Twin turbos are being installed as we speak, so no more headers gonna lose some power without them....... lol

Yea, light weight. Didn't really expect more power, but less rotational mass is always a good thing. No problems whatsoever - I'd have to go back and check what it cost...

I now have high flow cats and a tweaked tune from Roe so I need to get back to a dyno.

I made 486 on the dyno the car was tuned on. That was the first time using that dyno. I made 479 on the dyno that I have used for every other mod to the car. Same dyno for consistency. That is why I don't count the 486.

I think you should put that list in order of power, and if tie for power then torque as tie breaker. Its a little crazy without being sorted. This way people can see what combo makes the most power etc.

Twister, nice of you to do so much research and put together all these lists. I know it takes alot of effort, thanks!

Suggest that you also put a list together as to what each mod will do, in addition to a list of total HP numbers.

Dyno's are all over the board, I was talking to Dan at DC yesterday while dropping off my gen IV. He has a new ported intake that should net me around 25 RWHP. When you read replys to his product post here and in the Alley, everyone says how come you can't break 600hp with the intake, headers, exhaust, ECU? Another shop in the area will shows my gen IV with another 20 plus hp and its also a dyno-jet that is corrected. Dyno's are all over the board. He told me where in the LA area I can go to get a ton more on paper that will say SAE corrected, etc., etc and I can post a gen IV with probably close to 620 after his intake, but I am I really at 620 or a conservative 580 as I think Dan will show?

That's why I suggest asking folks to state how additional much hp and trq they got when the added headers, various exhaust, pulley's throttle bodies, etc.

That way folks can decide the cost benefits on mods, vs, wow that guy has 500 hp, my stocker has 410, I can get 90 hp with adding an exhaust and ecu. Conversely, wow, I just spend X$'s and I only got 30 more.

thanks again!

Mike
