Gen III Motor in a Gen II??

would a SRT10 gen III motor fit in a gen II RT/10?

It should. It's basically the same motor bored from 8.0 to 8.3L. Hopefully the motor mounts are in the same place. Has anyone done a visual check in terms of the mounts, pulleys, etc?

physically - yes, but the mounting accessories are located differently. This swap will keep you amused over more than a few weekends

According to some experts, the intake manifold is too tall and will not clear the hood. Look at how low the motor sits in the engine bay on the srt-10.

It would be cheaper to buy a Roe supercharger for the GenI or II.

It doesn't take a blower to make GEN III power with a Gen II engine. Just basic bolt ons.

Guys which engine is bigger: the Gen 2 or the Gen 3? Physically speaking not performance wise. I wonder what it will look like if you drop a Gen 3 engine on the GTS. Will it have more room on the engine bay to add more goodies?

What about if you take out both Engines Gen 2 and Gen 3 and highly mod both, which engine would give the most HP?

Just change to the Gen III intake & heads. You will have a slightly smaller cube Gen III.

A gen 3 would fit fine as far as height wise SVS uses a Gen 3 intake set up for their GTS TT RS car, as far as mounting I think you might run into some trouble there other then that you should be fine

The Gen-3 engine should fit fine, height wise as pointed out above. I think the biggest issue to overcome will be fusing the gen-3 sensor system with the Gen-2 engine controller. Secondly, the Oil Pan on the Gen-3 may pose a problem, as it sticks a few inches off the side of the engine on the passenger side... clearance to the frame rail me be an issue.
