For those who may remember my earlier post, I didn't get the car that had a "slight" accident. I'm pretty sure the accident was much more sever than the owner was letting on.

Instead I found a '94 RT/10 on consignment at a Toyota dealership. Just brought it home a few days ago!!

But I do have a few questions:

1. When I bought the car, I noticed the carpets were wet. I've since found that they are actually extremely wet. I've removed the seats carpet and have them drying now. The passenger seat was very difficult to remove. I couldn't slide it forward enough to get to the rear bolts holding it down. Is the passenger seat only supposed to move about 3-4 inches or is something wrong? It turns out the carpets are absolutely soaked and so is the heat/sound shield which is glued to the floor. Any suggestions on a good way to dry the heat/sound shielding material?

2. The windshield washers don't work. Where should I start looking?

3. I removed the front license plate and frame and now have to large, ugly holes in my front fascia. Does anyone know of some small plastic plugs I could use to cover these up? I don't want to fill them in permanently in case the cops around here decided to harass me about it (not too unusual).

4. The front tires are worn out and the dealership is replacing them. The rears are the originals and are in great shape. Any recommendations on what type to get for the front? Does mixing brands create any handling problems (since the originals are no longer available)

Other than those few issues, the car is in beautiful shape with only 16K miles on it. What a blast!!!

I have never seen the front tires wearing out before the back tires on a viper? Must be the second set on the back.

sounds like the dealer either left the car outside and it rained or someone was cleaning the carpet with a broken steam cleaner. I would make sure you dry that rug out real good!! Otherwise it will smell bad! While you have the rug out, I would make sure any wiring that got wet was completely dry..don't want copper getting corroded. Ask the dealer why the carpet is wet? I'm glad you were cautious of the first viper. We need a Vin warning page on this site for any vipers wrecked that people know of.

It is much easier to remove the seat if you take out the bottom cushion first. There is a clip on the front part of the bottom of the cushion. Just push down and back on it and the cushion will come right out. I take mine out frequently and swap it with the drivers side so that one does not show a lot more wear then the other.

Have a 1994 RT/10 for a couple years , I might be able to shed some light on the wetness. The Gen1 RT's are Very Leaky even with the top on and windows in. My guess is that it was left in the rain and the water seeped (sp?) on the front drivers door between the plastic windows(or hardtop windows) and the windsheild pillars. The water will weep down from there to the door are where the door panel wraps into the door jamb area. Autoform makes a VERY SIMPLE fix to this by selling adhesive gaskets for the area and solves the wetness problem (90% of it) with just a few seconds of installation. (www.autoformgroup.com).

My fronts too wore out MUCH quicker than my rear because the alignment was out. Had the front aligned and put new tires on there and was amazed at how much better it drove.

Hoped that helped some.

I wish I'd known about those cushions yesterday. I spent at least 1/2 an hour trying to get the one bolt out of the passenger side.
