Hello,

Kinda new to the Viper maintenance thing -- is Gumout (fuel injection cleaner) a good idea on a 1999 Viper?

Any other things I should worry about to check every 3,000 miles? Besides the oil?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I like to run a fuel injector cleaner like Techron with a full tank of gas every five or six tanks....

check your coolant levels and tire pressures and be sure your air filters are clean, as well as the radiator area inside the Fascia

I'm partial to the Red Line fuel injector cleaner - I've pulled heads off of engines I've run that stuff in and the valves were squeaky clean. All in all, just the usual maintenance things on these cars - they're pretty bulletproof.

I've had good luck with Valvoline fuel injector cleaner and others too, and even remove the injectors every so often and have them cleaned and flow checked locally.

Even here in So Cal, my Vipers sit a bit more than I'd like.

Otherwise, pretty standard stuff as above, fluids, filters and spark plugs.
