The thing about bright orange is that it'***** or miss. My first muscle car was a hemi orange '70 Cuda 383 Magnum. I loved that car, and was absolutely sure that I had to have the '08 Challenger SRT8 in orange. It looked amazing in the mags. But when my dealer got their first two Challengers, I chose the black one. The bright orange was overwhelming on the big Challenger. I want to wait and see what this orange Viper looks like in person before deciding how I feel about it. I think the black stripes would really balance it.

So other than maybe canards and a big wing, what other performance stuff will the ACR have on top of the TA upgrades? Any guesses? Will the engine get a boost in power this time around?

Venom V I agree with you assessment! I think like a yellow car, orange and other bright colors should be kept for smaller cars. I think the new challenger/charger/rams are way to big for screaming colors. That said, you can use those bright colors accent in conjunction with another color....like black or white!

Ok, I must have read the MT article 3 times and watched the vid, but I couldn't find the reason behind making exactly 33 TAs. Did anyone catch it? Because it set the Laguna Seca record in the 1:33's?

I couldn't find it in the article either. I believe the number is a tribute to the 1:33 ACR edition of which 33 were built.

Both the TA and ACR have a lap time of 1:33.
The cars being offered are One of Thirty Three. (1:33)

The TA's have air conditioners.

Gents

The 33 TA's we are planning for 2014MY are based on the SRT Viper, and it comes standard with A/C, and the lightest stereo system (the base 7-speaker, non-surround sound kit with 1 subwoofer). The 'rumoured' radio-delete was just hasty journalism, and a bad rumour. Relax. The car has a radio in it!

The TA is intended to be a car for the ********, occasional Track Day enthusiast, but these folks also appreciate cold air and music. But, as a ******** car, these 33 cars will also come with the SRT leather-wrapped dash, but that's it. The car is equpped with the ballistic nylon racing seats (No leather option - a big deal for many of you), and it has the relatively simple black interior. To a ******** track guy, this is beautiful. But even a ******** track guy like me has to admit that a Sepia Laguna interior on a GTS is WAY nicer.

Tough choice. Trust your inner voice. Most of us really want the rich interior, not the cloth racing seats.

(thanks for listening)

MV, if one wanted a track car but had no need for radio or a/c can it be ordered as such (I assume the dash may be an issue from a production standpoint)? Can you share the total weight of the base stereo and air conditioning components combined?

Sorry guys, there is no plan to offer the TA without base stereo or Air Conditioning.

................ as Mister Viper noted , it will be a purposeful car, but the rumors of other colors mean that those not wild about the wild orange may have another option.

I would surely hope that we would get quite a few of the initial cars, but keep in mind Viper Faithful, no one can order a 2014 at this time, but we can take deposits for future orders. Funny thing about that Chrysler Ordering system, it only lists 2013 as an orderable car, so kind of confused how someone could order a 2014 when this numerical designation does not exist in the order base............hmmm.

Gladly taking deposits in the middle of America , outstanding in my field.....................just a rumor , as the cornfield across the street is now filled with a Walmart!!
