Im going to see if I could claim home owners insurance because it was stolen from my house. I've had the car for a month give or take a few but it was damaged on the front bumper so it had been parked inside for a while until I the new piece arrived so i could put it on. yes it was outside for the time being when it was stolen. And a buddy sold me the car.

So why the 5 posts? And the "ha ha" if it is not funny?

Usually your home owners policy has a clause that says other sources of insurance must be utilized first, in this case, your auto comprehensive insurance. If you do not have comprehensive, you should be good unless there is an auto exclusion clause.

I'm trying hard to understand why you would have the car for a month, and part of that time parked outside, and not have it insured. I personally would have been too embarrassed to post that to this group. Good luck in getting it resolved.

Most home insurance policies do not cover automobiles... unless they are determined to be in "dead storage". Typically that requires them to be in a garage and unable to be driven.

For example... my 1996 is sitting in my garage right now... on jack stands... no wheels (waiting for newly purchased wheels), the battery removed (replacing while waiting for new wheels).

Good Luck!
