Has anyone put Line Loc on an ABS car?

Have seen pre 2001 Vipers with line loc, but was wondering what more was involved with abs cars. I have been hitting the strip lately with my drag radials and a line loc would sure make life easier.

Would this be anymore difficult to do on my 2001?

Thanks

One more time. Anything different on the ABS cars versus pre-ABS cars.

What is line loc?
I have a 2000 GTS with Bier 6 piston calipers up front and the front brakes and rotors on the back. I'd like to put abs on the car. Has anyone tried this?

Put a line lock on my '01 RT/10. No problem at all. Install was no different than on a non-ABS car.

Andrew - there are ABS kits out there, but they're PRICEY. I'd suggest starting with a call to JonB @ Parts Rack

Thanks treynor, I've looked into it. New abs 5 or 6 Thousand. I'd like to get a get a used set. What does the line loc do.

A line loc is a device that gets installed in line with the brake line to the front brakes. Keeps the brake fluid from flowing back into the reservoir once the brake pedal is released. You apply the brakes, engage the line loc, release the brake pedal. Now your front brakes are still applied (the fluid cannot travel back to the reservoir) and your back brakes are released. This allows for much easier burnouts.

Thanks Tomas, Treynor and Mark. I did not know if the sensor came into play and made things more complicated. I know most put on the kit from HURST. I have seen them on the car, but did not know if there was a special application for an ABS setup.

Andrew,

Have you looked into buying the OEM ABS parts? There is an "ABS controller" behind the fascia which plugs into the ECU. I belive the ECU is the *same* from 1996-2002, so all you would need would be that controller + the factory parts (at the very least ABS sensors and the modulator, but possibly the caliper or even A-arms are different, I dunno).

I would think if you could find a wrecked Viper, you could probably get the parts you need a lot cheaper than $5-6k
