Well after two weeks, I still can not get my car to move! The problem is that the clutch just goes to the floor. About 3/4 of the way, there is no feel what so ever but for the last maybe 1/4 or 1/8 there is a little feel.
I have changed the DOT 3/4 Brake Fluid in the clutch system TWICE and no result. The first time this happened (about a month ago), adding more fluid solved the problem but not this time. I thought maybe the fluid was leaking but every time I check it, the same amount is there now.
The car has been sitting outside all this time so it has been exposed to cold temperatures (10 - 30 degrees) but I have tried to start it and drive it for a while and nothing. The car just starts but does not go into gear at all. The last time I started it, the car was on for about an hour and it was 60 degrees outside! I did notice that when you start the car in gear it moves but the car does not like it and it just launches forward and you can not get it out of gear without turning the car off.
Anyone have any idea on what this could be? I do not think the clutch went because right before the system stopped working, I was fine with the clutch with no slipping what so ever. The car has 47,000 miles and was fine before this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I spoke to Chuck and he said he has a few ideas but needs to see the car before stating what the exact problem is. Normally I would drop the car off to him but since it is not driveable I have to have it towed and that is almost $500 so I wanted to find out if there were any suggestions before I fork over that kind of money and possibly end up kicking myself in the butt for doing it. Any suggestions?
