Will this Gen2 Headers fit my Gen1?

What do i need to made them Fit ??

Those are not accurately stated in the auction title as they are the tubular Gen 2 which starts in what, 1996?

Anyway, I think you have to cut the mounting flange apart where it joins together from tube to tube but they will otherwise bolt right up. Don't remember why you have to do that but maybe use the search if no one chimes in.

Gonna be some pricey shipping won't it?

I believe all you have to do is cut the connecting straps off from each pipe (for clearence issues)

How much HP will i gain with these Headers ??

I think it's more the weight than hp, but I seem to remember it's a couple pounds off the scale and the same on the dyno.

Drivers side "straps" need to be trimmed down to make them fit. The weight savings was about 38lbs for both side. If you have them Jet-Hot coated, it will keep the engine compartment cooler and maybe pickup 5-10HP.

The tubular headers came out in 1998.

You have to cut the "webs" between the ports out to clear the headbolts. I noticed a little gain with my car.
And alot lighter!

Don't do it. Probably not worth the time and effort to convert. Get a set of real headers and go HF or no cats etc. Lots of stock gen 2 headers lying around like my own that have basicaly no value except save a couple of pounds. Save your money and do the real deal. GTS Bruce

I agree! I've talk to Chuck Tator about this matter and its not worth the effort. He says Edlebrock are the only ones the fit right in with no problems for a Gen 1. He would know best!!! JD
