Considering dark tint headlight shields from the Viper Store but two major concerns:

1. Are they street legal in AZ?
2. Will they greatly cut down on my nightime visability?

We have them on our headlights (NY), and as long as the visibility is the same with or without them, they are legal (as per a police chief)...they LOOK like they may cut down on visibility, but they do not...we have black tint on black vert. They do NOT in any way interfere with the lights. ~juli~

I cannot find the receipts as it was awhile ago, but I think dodge.com; there's also a guy on the forums, blue batmobile that I believe also sells the tinted shields. We liked the black, but they also came in clear and now blue too. Hope this helps! ~juli~

yes they do cout down on the light. I can run my brights and get the same effect as regular lights with them. Noboy flashes there lights at me. As for legal so far so good but after all it is a Viper.

I called DPS (AZ state cops) about the tinted shields and was told no go, it's illegal. I still like the look, but not the risk of the fine.

Basically the rule is Driving during the daylight hours is no issue. If it is raining and the state requires headlights on or driving at night they are illegal period. All depends if the Police want to enforce it. Your local guy might say yes but he might not be the guy pulling you over!!

I have the black smoked. Yes they due cut down the light that will be emitted, there's no way around it. But I was shocked at how much light they allow to pass through. One thing you could consider is putting them on your headlights (but not on the fogs). They look great, protect your lights on the track if you race, and they do retain some reasonable functionality on the street.

Bought them years ago, can't track down who I bought them from. I remember I did a search on ebay initially and found a place that had them laser cut in black, clear, yellow, and blue. After 3 years, they held up well.
