Check with Tom Welch, JonB, or whoever you're buying them from. I was informed that putting the heat shields back on top of my Belangers was not recommended and may void the warranty.

I have mine on. They bellangers are bigger and alot closer to the rest of the engine compartment.

I think you are good either way. I may take my heat shields off. The bellangers look so cool.

I also put the heat shields back on. Hated to cover up the nice look. As far as warranty I would rather ruin the headers than overheat the area around the headers.

Got mine from Jon B and he said not to run shields but if I was concerned I should call Belanger. Called Belanger and said not to run shields as the extra heat would be bad for the headers. No problems without shields.

My suggestion would be if you choose to leave them off make sure you protect your pressure bottle hose (Under Bottle). Also double and triple check your power steering bottle cap!

I thought I'd read here somewhere that heat shields MUST be used to avoid severely increasing your chance of underhood fire... Not worth the risk IMHO.

One of our members had his car saved by the heat shields.

On track the car lost the P/steering lid and tipped fluid onto the shields the slight difference in temp meant no fire but loads of smoke.

2 Minutes and a bucket of water and the car was saved.

I would also fit the shields if you have the cruise control kit as the excess heat would probably kill it!!!!!
