This car is one of the official Daytona authorized Vipers, and was done by Autoform in Holland , Michigan. We sold all 10 of the vehicles and this one was modified by us, and then later enhanced further by the good folks at DC Performance. Feel free to call Mark Jorgensen on Monday at 1-402-426-4126 or try his email, below, and we will be happy to help our friends in Jolly Olde England.

Best Regards,
Bill Pemberton

one of our UK members Steve purchased the car from Bill at Woodhouse, it came over with around 1500 miles on the clock spent a little time here before Steve decided he needed more power.

Steve decided on NA power, rather than S/C or turbocharging. Not wanting to loose his car for to long, and to speed things up he brought a nearly new engine (off Partsrack I believe) and sent it to DC Peformance to be modded then a couple of months later put his car in a container and sent it Dan and his team to work his magic, the stock engine was swapped for the freshly worked engine along with quite a few other mods, here's some of them:

upgraded cooling system with Ali rad
custom fabricated air induction
crankcase vent system
upgraded power steering cooler
Bellanger headers, hi flow cats, 3" cat back
inconel exhaust shields
side sill vent system
AEM management
RPS carbon flywheel and pressure plate
close custom ratio performance transmission
unitrax race diffs (1000 hp rated) with torque sensing unit
Chromoyl driveshafts, diff rebuilt and strenghtened
Toe link stiffeners street/track alignment
Brakeman brake kit, SS lines
Roll bar, race harnesses

the engine has some very nice parts:
Caldwell developed built engine 488cu
Carrillo Rods
JE pistons
Blueprinted oil pump
performance bearing and piston rings
Tru roller timing train
port matched and extruded honed intake manifold
CNC ported cylinder heads with ARP studs
dual valve springs with titanium retainers
custom large diameter intake and exhaust valves
1.7 ratio roller rockers
heavy wall heat treatedpushrods of custom length
deck sufaces squared to crankshaft centerline
bores honed with deck plates
ATI harmoinc dampeners
custom resized fuel injectors
fuel pump voltage booster
Dynamometer test 650+bhp

I have a plaque and certificate from autoform that says mine is #7 of 9. Would expect Bill or someone from autoform might know. Heard that 4 or 5 of the Daytonas were final editions.

I owned the original car that was built by Autoform as the Prototype, my car was sold to a gentleman who then used it for the Viper Days series. It was very cool owning the prototype to these special cars. It was featured in Viper Magazine, I can't remember the issue but will look for it tomorrow. We still have photos of the car being introduced in Daytona at the Daytona 500 in 2001. I enjoyed the look of that car, and Nadine your car looks incredible.

Nice pics Bernie! A little Daytona history. My understanding is this car was eventually totalled. Also that the prototype was not counted as 1 of the 9 Daytona 24's. Bill Pemberton does count it when he says there were 10 Daytonas. Note the side exiting exhaust that did not make it to the "production" Daytonas.

The GT2's Commemorative # 1 is alive and a week from completion. The car will leave the Autoform and then I will work on the performance part of it here at our performance shop Route 6 Motorsports. The car looks awesome. I will post pictures in two weeks when I get it back here in Va. Thanks for asking. Waiting on canards, side splitters, decals. I hope to post interior shots later this week. Lastly badged and available.
