Recently purchased a well maintained 1997 RT/10 (Blue with White stripes) with approximately 18K miles. However, passenger side exhaust is consistently running about 50 degress hotter than the drivers side. About a week ago, made a short drive to work in stop and go traffic (nothing above 30 miles per hour). When parked, right side rocker panel (towards the front- both top and underneath) was smoking and the paint had charcoaled and was bubbling. Smoke continued like a small fire was inside the panel (until I poured water on it). Had it towed to the Dodge dealership (under warranty). They found 1 fault code (right side oxygen sensor) when they connected the computer up to it and replaced the oxygen sensor. They panel is still damaged and won't be fixed until we fix the extreme heat problem as the panel is expensive to continue to replace. I just got the Viper back as they want me to test it out to see if the problem reoccurs after they replaced the oxygen sensor. The right side is still running hotter than the left. Please help! We are looking for other potential problems to fix and don't want to melt my Viper anymore!!!!!
