Help with hood emblem

I justb ordered the gen 3 hood emblem for my 99 rt10..

How many inches down dose it go from the crack that seperates the hood and nose?????

Had the car repainted and took the old emblem off..Now im not sure were the new emblem goes..

Hey Derrick,

Good question! I just measured five Vipers including mine that are in my shop and they range from 2.25" to 3.25". No two Vipers are the same, so put it where you like it!

Find the centerline and measure 3.3 inches down from the top of where the fascia meets the hood. That is what the service manual for my 02 states.

Can someone help with the positioning of the trunk emblem too?

Werent the emblems on from the factory?????Why such a large differance????

Oh well..Ive only seen 3 other Vipers driving on the road in my life here in Hawaii..So it's not like anyone will know it's off...Ha ha ha..

That's the beauty of a handbuilt car -each one is different in some small way.

My friend has a'97 GTS identical to mine. Our "Viper GTS" emblems on the side of the hood are arranged completely different. Neither car has been in an accident so it's not due to a body shop.

Mine:
-VIPER-
- GTS -


His:
-VIPER GTS-

His car seems to have the "normal" configuration while mine is like the
VIPER
GTS-R
but it's not a GTS-R, just the placement of "GTS" is the same.
