This is starting to look like a pattern. Drive a Z06, get tired of GM, buy a Viper Coupe! Thats what I did...

I start with this:

The Z is a quicker car. Sorry!

My Z at 13.5k miles dropped the rod bearings, crank shaft, 2 rods bent, and a couple of pistons. Then after the replacement motor was in the next morning the tranny got stuck in between 3-4, can you say new tranny. With the roof recall it was 3 strikes you're out.

Heres how I feel about the Viper;

Build quality is better, body flex none, creeks and moans none.
Everyone wants to see it. I get more statements about moving up from the vette by people that it was a good choice. They always say that don't see to many of these but they see vettes everywhere.

I like the exclutivity of the Viper.

Its still fast, yes its fast, can I say fast one more time.

The sound, LOVE IT. V-10 noise is music to the ears.

I am so glad to be me.

Congrats. You may want to swap the factory 3.07 miser gear for aggressive 3.55's to really wake that beast up.

If you are going to track the car, stay with the 3.07s. Especially if you are running at Texas Motorsport Ranch. Have fun, and get a Comp Coupe oil pan if you are going to do road course stuff.

Grunt, was it you that was posting on CF that you had just got the car back and had the tranny lock on you? Im sorry to hear about all the problems you had, seemed like your car was cursed. I hope this Viper works out better for you. I made the choice to buy the Viper because your posts (assuming it was you) and many others all sounded the same. Problems, lack of customer service, problems, lack of customer service, etc, etc, etc.

Are you hear in Dallas? I live in Flower Mound and I went to the VCA meeting last week in Dallas. Its a good group of people that all seem very knowledgeable on the viper and all of its uses. I definately recommend looking them up. There is a Christmas party soon, just be careful in the colder weather. You already know with the Z06 seat time. Cold weather and lots of torque make for interesting driving.

Nice upgrade.

You will continue to be impressed.

Choose your mods wisely based upon how you intend to use the car.

Welcome.

I appreciate the C6 Z06 for the stock performance, but it just seems 'the more I read' 'the more I read' about rear end problems, clutches burning/fried, and other drivetrain problems. Then there's the whole defeating the safety sh*t programmed into the computer (torque management, etc...). All this at STOCK HP levels! Maybe I'm just used to the Viper/Viper forums where people complain about replacing a stock clutch at 40,000 miles, all the time they were Supercharged as well with 650+ RWHP. Or people complaining about a OEM half shaft twisting at the track with slicks and 900 RWHP. It's nice to be spoiled in this way....

That would be me. The Z is a good car but it is having its problems with the first run '06.

I am in Trophy Club. I can see Flower Mounds watertower out my office window.
