I've looked in the forums and didn't see any posting about this and figured maybe someone has experienced/heard this before.

Just recently, when I start the car in the morning, I hear a high pitch noise coming from the engine. It stays on for about 10 seconds and noise goes away after that. I only hear it from a cold start (i.e. first time I start the car up in the morning) and happens about 80% of the time.

Not really sure what it is but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I have an 04 with about 15k miles, stock everything.

TIA

mine is also an 04...makes the noise when it starts and is gone after about 10 seconds. I'm pretty sure it's the fan starting to spin. I think some people have had problems with the fan or the fan drive system. that's about all I have to say about that.

Illsmoq,

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

At least I'm not the only one that's heard that high pitch noise issue. It doesn't sound like something to be concerned about that much...

Thanks again!

check balancer bolts, especially 04 cars. If it comes loose, hub can whine/squeak if it comes loose.

04 is 130 ft/lbs and uses a 13/16 socket, all others are 250 and use a 1-1/4 socket.

The bad cooling module should be more of a bad vibration, especially with the A/C on at idle.
