Hi Guys

I'm getting a high pitched spueal around 4000 rpm. I'm guessing it's a belt but I don't know **** about cars..lol.

1) Are there a few belts under there that might be making the noise?
2) How much am I looking at to fix it?
3) Any recomendations on a place out here in the east end to get it fixed?

When my battery went dead it took a dealership out here 3 weeks to get me a new one and I had to show the 2 mechanics how to open and close the hood of my gen II

Thanks :drive:

Probably just the serpentine belt.. like tires they get hard and slip. If you want to troubleshoot it yourself, while the car is idling, spray the belt with silicone or belt dressing spray from Crappy Tire, easy to get to at the top pulley near the alternator. If the squeal goes away it's the belt and the spray is just a temporary fix, any dealer can change a serpentine belt, and there's a diagram decal illustrating how the belt is routed, look near the master cylinder. You can also try running the car with the air conditioning off or on, usually an old belt will start to squeal when there is a higher load such as driving the a/c compressor.
